Our Mission

We are Working to Change the World of Seafood by Eliminating, Dry, Rubbery, Overcooked Fish

We love fish. Love catching it and eating it. The middle part cooking it has not always been so great. To solve the mystery of "how long do I cook a piece of fish" we created Fishtastic; a simple gauge that measures the thickness of a piece of fish and determines you what time and temperature to cook at so the fish is perfectly cooked. Always moist and flakey - never overcooked or raw. This dishwasher safe, stainless steel tool is made in the USA and will allow you to cook seafood like a gourmet chef in a fine restaurant. We guarantee you will love this simple addition to your kitchen tools.

FAQ

What is Fishtastic?

It is a gauge that determines the optimal cooking time and cooking temperature for a unique piece of fish.

How do I use it?

Bring fish to room temperature, extend rod and insert it into the thickest part of the fish, push body down on rod until the tail contacts the fish. Read the minutes off the scale and cook your fish for that number of minutes.

Does it work on fish steaks as well as fillets?

Yes

Does it work on all types of fish?

Yes

Can the fish be frozen or just out of the refrigerator?

No, the fish needs to be brought to room temperature prior to cooking. It takes about 20 - 30 minutes after removing thawed fish from the refrigerator to bring it up to room temperature.

Can I use a microwave?

Are you kidding me?  Who puts fish in a microwave?

Do I need to flip the fish and cook both sides?

No, you don’t need to turn the fish; it comes down to personal preference to flip the fish after half of the time has elapsed (we are flippers).

How do I clean Fishtastic after using?

Wash with warm soap and water and slide the rod to remove any fish build up, or place into a dishwasher.

How do I cook two different pieces of fish with different thickness?

OK, this takes a little math, but is pretty intuitive.  Subtract the thin time from the thick time, this difference will be the “delta”. Begin cooking the thick piece first, and after delta minutes have elapsed, place the thin fish next to the thick fish. Flip both when half of the thick time has elapsed and remove both at the end of the thick time.

Can I adjust the way the rod slides?

Yes, by slightly bending the body you can adjust the way the rod slides, but don’t bend it too much.

If I don’t like my Fishtastic can I return it?

If you are unhappy with Fishtastic, for whatever reason, we will issue a full refund if returned within 60 days of purchase.

What type of warranty is included?

Fishtastic is made from the highest quality stainless steel and each unit is assembled and inspected by hand. We offer a lifetime warranty that covers any defect to the rod or body attributable to manufacturing. If you find a defect, we will replace your Fishtastic at no charge.
